Prospecting with Mistral Le Chat means asking Mistral’s assistant, now called Vibe, in plain English to find prospects, write first messages and draft replies, without leaving the conversation. On its own, the assistant doesn’t know your prospects: it needs an MCP connector to a prospecting tool. Many European salespeople pick it for a simple reason: their data stays in Europe by default. Here’s what it really changes, the connection tutorial, five uses and the limits to know.
📌 Key takeaways
- Le Chat has been called Vibe since 28 May 2026. Same address, same account, same conversations.
- A custom MCP connector takes five minutes to add, including on the free plan.
- Vibe’s data is hosted in the European Union by default, but training on your conversations is on by default: switch it off.
- For everyday uses in detail, our prospecting with Claude tutorial applies as is: same connector, same requests.
Prospecting with Mistral Le Chat: what does it actually mean?
Prospecting with Mistral Le Chat means linking Vibe, Mistral AI’s assistant, to a prospecting tool through the MCP protocol, then running prospect search, messages and replies by chatting. Vibe picks the actions to run in the tool and asks for your approval before anything that changes or sends something.
First thing to know: Le Chat no longer exists under that name. Mistral announced it in “Vibe gets to work”: Le Chat becomes Vibe, one agent and one licence across work and code, with conversations, settings and plan carried over. You still open it at chat.mistral.ai.
| Vibe mode | Where it runs | For prospecting |
|---|---|---|
| Work | Web and mobile app | The mode to use: connectors, multi-step tasks, scheduled tasks |
| Code | Terminal, VS Code, web sessions | For people who want to write scripts or link several tools |
| Chat | Web, being phased out | Le Chat’s old conversation view, merged into Work |
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an assistant call another app’s functions. On Mistral’s side, an MCP connector exposes two kinds of functions: those that read (list your prospects, read a conversation) and those that write (approve a message, exclude a prospect). The difference matters, and we come back to it in the tutorial. 🔌
Takeaway: Vibe is the interface, not the source. Without a connector, it can’t see who is hiring this week or who replied to you yesterday.
Why would a European salesperson choose Mistral for prospecting?
A European salesperson chooses Mistral first for where the data lives: according to Mistral’s help centre, your data is hosted in the European Union by default. The vendor is a French company, subject to the GDPR and to European regulators. When your prospects are finance directors, public buyers or owners of manufacturing SMEs, the question can come up from the very first exchange. 🇪🇺
Let’s stay precise, without turning it into a magic argument:
- “By default” doesn’t mean “always”. The same page explains that, depending on the feature used, data can be temporarily transferred outside the EU, to the subprocessors listed in Mistral’s Trust Center, under standard contractual clauses.
- Training is on by default. According to Mistral’s help article on training, Vibe users are not opted out by default; only Enterprise customers are. The connectors documentation adds that data read through a connector is never used for training, but the conversation that repeats it follows your plan’s rule.
- A US assistant isn’t unlawful for all that. France’s data protection authority, the CNIL, notes that transfers outside the EU are possible with safeguards, and that since July 2023 an adequacy decision has covered certified US companies. Mistral makes the conversation with your DPO or your clients easier; it doesn’t replace it.
As for MeetMagnet, the tool plugged into Vibe, our website puts it this way: a French company, data hosted in Europe; for your campaigns, you are the data controller and MeetMagnet the processor, with a data processing agreement (DPA) available on request. The connector only passes Vibe what you ask for: your prospects and their signal, your conversations, your results.
For the full framework (legitimate interest, informing prospects, the right to object), see our article on GDPR in B2B prospecting. ⚖️
Takeaway: with Mistral, your conversations stay in Europe by default, as long as you switch off training and don’t confuse “European” with “compliant”.
How do you connect MeetMagnet to Mistral Vibe, step by step?
You connect MeetMagnet to Vibe by adding a custom MCP connector, then authorising access through OAuth in your browser. No key to copy. Here are the steps described in Mistral’s documentation on MCP connectors. ⏱️
- In MeetMagnet, open Settings then AI integrations. The “MCP server” block shows the address to copy:
https://app.meet-magnet.com/mcp. Access is limited to your account and can be revoked at any time. - In Vibe, open the Connectors page from the sidebar, click + Add Connector, then the Custom MCP Connector tab.
- Fill in the fields. Name:
MeetMagnet(no spaces or special characters). Server URL:https://app.meet-magnet.com/mcp. Description optional. Click Connect: Vibe detects the authentication method on its own. - Sign in to MeetMagnet. Vibe guides you to MeetMagnet’s OAuth consent screen: you see the permissions requested and you accept them. Vibe never sees your password.
- Set permissions function by function. In My Connectors, open the MeetMagnet card, Functions tab. Mistral recommends pre-authorising (“Always allow”) the read functions you use often and keeping write functions on manual approval. For prospecting, that’s the right rule. ✅
- Turn the connector on in the conversation. Click + (or type
/), then Tools, and turn on MeetMagnet. Ask your first question.
Which plans allow it? The documentation states that adding a connector is reserved for the administrator, and that on the Free, Pro and Student plans the administrator is the account owner. A salesperson working alone can therefore do it from the free plan. On Team, the organisation’s administrator adds the connector for everyone.
To cut access, disconnect the connector on Vibe’s Connectors page, or remove access from MeetMagnet. 🔒
Plug MeetMagnet into your AI
The connector page shows how to plug it into Mistral, Claude or ChatGPT in a few minutes.
What can you ask Mistral to do for prospecting?
You can ask Vibe to do anything the MeetMagnet app does, in plain English. Here are five short uses; the detail of each (what happens behind the scenes, the safeguards) is in our Claude tutorial, which applies identically to Mistral.
1. Find prospects who have a signal. 🎯
Example
“I sell invoicing software. Find me finance directors at manufacturing SMEs who are interested in e-invoicing or who have just started in their role.”
Vibe creates the intents and searches in MeetMagnet; prospects arrive with their signal and a score.
2. Write the first message, without it sounding like AI. ✍️
Example
Signal: the finance director of a plastics SME comments on a post about the e-invoicing timeline.
Opener that misses: “Hi Luke, I saw your comment on e-invoicing. Our solution makes you compliant in a few clicks.”
Opener that gets a reply: “Hi Luke, a lot of finance directors at manufacturing SMEs are finding that the longest part isn’t the tool, it’s cleaning up the supplier files. Is that what’s keeping you busy too, or are you already ready?”
The first quotes the signal and sells; the second talks about his problem and asks a simple question. Our rules for avoiding messages that ring false are in the article on hyper-personalised outreach that sounds like AI.
3. Reply to prospects. 💬
Example
“Who replied to me this week? Rank them from warmest to coldest and suggest a reply to each.”
Vibe drafts the replies and asks for your approval before anything is sent.
4. Tighten the targeting. 🔁
Example
“These three prospects are consultants, not finance directors. Exclude them and tell me which intent brought them in.”
Each exclusion, with its reason, becomes a rule for the account.
5. Schedule your weekly review. 📅 Vibe Work can run a request at a set time (once, daily, weekly or monthly). For example, schedule every Monday at 8am, with the connector turned on in the task: “Summarise last week’s replies, the meetings booked and the intent that worked best.”
Takeaway: the requests are the same as in Claude or ChatGPT; what changes is where the assistant runs and what it keeps.
Mistral Vibe Code: for those who want to go further?
Vibe Code is Vibe’s developer mode: a command-line interface, a VS Code extension and web sessions. It also accepts remote MCP servers with OAuth. It’s for people who want to chain several tools in a script: export prospects who said yes to a spreadsheet, prepare a report, link MeetMagnet to a CRM.
According to Vibe Code’s documentation on MCP servers, one command in the terminal is enough:
vibe mcp add meetmagnet --url https://app.meet-magnet.com/mcp
Vibe then opens your browser to sign in, and keeps the tokens in the system keyring, not in the configuration file. From a session, /mcp status shows the state of each server and /mcp logout meetmagnet cuts access. You can also set each tool to “ask” to keep an approval on every call.
For a concrete example of what you can build with an assistant linked to several tools, see our small business CRM linked to AI. For the vast majority of salespeople, Vibe Work is enough.
Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral: which one should you pick for prospecting?
All three can use a prospecting tool through MCP. The difference lies in access to the connector and where the data is stored, according to each vendor’s help pages as of 6 November 2026.
| Claude | ChatGPT | Mistral (Vibe) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vendor | Anthropic, United States | OpenAI, United States | Mistral AI, France |
| Custom MCP connector | All plans, only one on Free | Business, Enterprise, Edu; read-only on Pro | All plans, added by the account administrator |
| Where data is stored | In the United States | Europe possible for a new Enterprise or Edu workspace | European Union by default |
| Training on your conversations | Depends on plan and settings | Off by default on business plans | On by default, except Enterprise; can be turned off |
| Quality of messages in English | Good, needs a review | Good, needs a review | Good, needs a review |
Sources: Anthropic’s help article on server locations, OpenAI’s help article on custom MCP servers, OpenAI’s announcement on data residency in Europe, and the Mistral pages cited above.
Our view, with no definitive ranking:
- Mistral if your clients or your DPO ask where the data goes, or if you want a custom connector without paying for a subscription.
- Claude if you already use it every day; the full tutorial is here.
- ChatGPT if your company already has a Business or Enterprise workspace, where the administrator adds the connector for the team.
The MeetMagnet connector uses the same address everywhere: you can test two assistants in the same week and keep the one whose messages sound most like you. 💡
What are the limits before prospecting with Mistral?
The first limit is the most common: believing a European assistant settles the data question on its own. ⚠️ Your prospects are still personal data you have to handle: legal basis, information, right to object. Mistral hosts; it doesn’t decide for you.
The other limits:
- ❌ Leaving training on. In Mistral’s admin panel, under Vibe then Privacy, turn off “Allow your interactions to be used to train our models”. On mobile, the setting is called “Enable data sharing”.
- ❌ Sending without reviewing. Vibe writes correct English, but it has tics: overly polite phrasing, warm-up sentences, compliments on the prospect’s post. Review every message at first, and give your corrections: they become instructions for what follows.
- ⚠️ Pre-authorising everything. “Always allow” on a write function lets actions go out without asking you. Keep it for reading.
- ⚠️ An incomplete connector. Mistral says custom connectors don’t yet support every MCP capability: dynamic tool discovery, resources, prompt templates. For a prospecting tool, the main functions are enough.
- ❌ A “LinkedIn MCP” found online that drives your account with your login: it’s the shortest route to a restriction. At MeetMagnet, searches don’t go through your LinkedIn account.
One last limit, the same as with every assistant: with a vague target, Vibe just produces vagueness faster. A well-tuned AI SDR always starts with a precise target and a signal that justifies the message. 🎯
How much does prospecting with Mistral cost?
Two subscriptions to plan for: Mistral’s, and the one for the tool plugged into it.
- Mistral Vibe: the free plan is enough to add the connector; the Pro, Team and Enterprise plans add heavier tasks, a team workspace or custom deployments.
- MeetMagnet: searching for prospects from your AI is free to start. To prospect and track your results, you need an account: Self-serve at €149 excl. VAT per month, with a free trial, or Managed at €299 excl. VAT per month, where someone on our team calibrates the target and messages with you. Details are on our pricing page.
Prospect with Mistral this week
Add the connector in Vibe, ask your first question, and see the prospects who have a signal in your market.
Prospecting with Mistral Le Chat, now Vibe, doesn’t change the method: a signal, an opener that talks about the prospect’s problem, then the meeting. What changes is where the conversation lives. Add the connector, switch off training, keep manual approval on everything that writes, and review your first messages. You’ll have a European assistant, in Europe by default, that finally knows your prospects. 👋

Frequently asked questions
Does Mistral's Le Chat still exist?
Yes, under a new name. On 28 May 2026, Mistral renamed Le Chat to Vibe, with three modes: Work for everyday tasks, Code for developers and Chat, the old conversation view, which is being phased out. The chat.mistral.ai address, your account, your plan and your conversation history all stay the same.
How do I add an MCP connector in Mistral Le Chat?
Open the Connectors page, click + Add Connector, then the Custom MCP Connector tab. Enter a name with no spaces, paste the server address (for MeetMagnet: https://app.meet-magnet.com/mcp), click Connect, then accept the permissions in your browser. Then turn the connector on in the conversation with the + button.
Do I need a paid Mistral plan to add a connector?
No. According to Mistral's documentation, adding a connector is reserved for the account administrator, and on the Free, Pro and Student plans that is the account owner. A salesperson working alone can therefore do it themselves. On the Team plan, it goes through the organisation's administrator.
Is Mistral GDPR compliant?
Mistral AI is a French company subject to the GDPR. Its data is hosted in the European Union by default, with possible temporary transfers to listed subprocessors, covered by standard contractual clauses. A DPA is published. For your prospects' data, you remain the data controller.
Does Mistral use my conversations to train its models?
By default yes, except on the Enterprise plan. Mistral says data read through a connector is never used for training, but the conversation that quotes it follows your plan's rule. Turn the option off in the admin panel, under Vibe then Privacy, before putting prospect data into it.
Mistral or ChatGPT for prospecting?
Both can use a prospecting tool through MCP. Mistral keeps your conversations in the European Union by default and accepts a custom connector from the free plan. ChatGPT keeps full MCP for its Business and Enterprise plans. For writing, compare them on your own messages: both need a review.
